Secret Families

We are getting together a LARGE group of families in the ward/area to do what is called "Secret Family" This is a fun family activity and opportunity to teach your children that it REALLY IS so much more fun to give than to receive. Here's the Details:

You are assigned 1 family
You will drop something (cookies, small gift, whatever you choose)3 timesby January 1st.
Price limit is no more than $20 TOTAL
Simply drop the gift or item on the doorstep, ring the bell and run. -DONT get Caught!:) Be sure to leave a card or indication that it is from "your secret family" (Don't forget to bring the kids along for the fun!!)
Families will be randomly assigned from those that sign up. Size of family and location may vary...(All will be in The Marana/Red Rock area)

Are you up for it??? Can your family do it and not get caught? :)

Email me or reply as soon as possible. I will be assigning the families by this next coming Sunday. -Pass the word along, any who are interested may join in. I can't possibly contact everyone.

Good website

http://tipnut.com/

This place has a lot of great ideas in one place. Everything from decoration to home made baby wipes & laundry soap.

UPDATE Water Storage

Dare & I went and got a huge trailer full for family & friends. We already have ours, but if enough people are interested we can go again, but it cost us almost $60 in gas for the trip, therefore we would have to charge $25 a barrell instead of $20. (He does not offer discounts anymore) He also sells 30 gal which are great if you really needed to you could throw them in your car & go.
It is true -the your better off buying prepackaged water bottles for drinking, but remember how offten we use water in our everyday lives that doesn't go in our body.
Let me know if people are still interested. Thanks. Renee

Does Your Bag Have Holes In It? Book Deal

Cameron Taylor has written an amazing book, Does your Bag Have Holes In It? His book has been endorsed by Stephen Covey, John Huntsman, and many other successful business leaders. He's a phenomenal speaker. We were blessed to have him come speak to our church a few months back.

The book is priced at 17.95 normally. Amazon sells it for $14. Right now Cameron is offering a special for Christmas- 22 books for $99.00 that includes the shipping. That's 4.50 per book. I don't need 22 copies, but a few of us are going in on one order. We would like to get our order in by Wednesday. If you would like a book, please let me know asap.

Charity Swap

Last night I was thinking about the upcoming Relief Society activity, which I will not be able to attend. But I wanted to offer up my talents. I don't have many, I'm not crafty, can't sew a straight line and my cooking skills are rusty. But I can clean, and if your life is anything like mine, I know its hectic and laundry, vacuuming and dishes pile up. (Admit it you have some dirty dishes in your sink right now that you wish would wash themselves)
During this holiday season I would like to serve the sisters that I am so blessed to have in my life. So take the kids to the park, grocery store or sit and chat with me; but please allow me to help. Any thing from dishes, bathrooms, floors, and laundry. I am serious. No judgements, no embarrassment, just service. If you don't want to leave a comment for all to see, e-mail or call me. Food Stoarge and Emergency Preparation Blog

I saw this site on Ben's cousin blog and I really like it. It is called Safely Gathered In (click on the link) and it is a food storage and emergency preparation blog. It helps you gather and organize 72 hour kits, 3 months food storage, and one year supply of food storage. It also give weekly recipes on how to make things from your food storage and all that good stuff. It has lots of things on it, like how to rotate your food storage and even car kits. I just thought that I would share it.

Do you have water Storage?

A couple years back Graham and I purchased our water storage barrels from this location in Phoenix.
http://www.arizonabarrels.com
We got them for $12 per barrel. They were used but easily cleaned up.
This site has them for $18 which is a fraction (seriously) of the cost anywhere else. Maybe they can work out a deal if we get a bunch? I have mine already so if you are interested maybe a group of you can go in on it??

Just a suggestion since we have been Confined to Food Storage for a week. Kind of gets you thinking!

Potty trainning woes

I have a question for moms who've been through the potty training tough stuff. We started potty training Miles about 6 weeks ago. He was excited and eager to try. He was actually getting to the point where he was going the whole day without accidents! I started thinking the hard part was behind us.

Things are not going smoothly now. Miles has reverted back to several accidents a day and no interest in the potty. I'm trying to decide if this is just a normal part of the process that little kids go through or if his continual accidents are a signal to put a stop to potty training and go back to diapers until his older.

I'm afraid if I keep potty training up and he goes on having lots of accidents every day that this will be a huge a source of stress and tension for both of us and I want to keep this as positive as possible. But, at the same time, I'm afraid if I put him back in diapers it might be even harder to try again later.

So what I'm wondering is...is a revert back to lots of accidents normal and should I stick it through for a while? Or if you had a child you decided to put back in diapers for a while, how did it go and how was potty training the "second" time around with that child? I know every kid is different but I wanted to get some ideas.

Cards Idea Box Set

This morning on the news in Utah, ABC 4 was doing a segment about Holiday Card Ideas. Northridge Media has a Card Magazine with tons of ideas. They have put together the "best" in a collection, there are suppose to be 2400 ideas in the twelve books. It is $19.95 for each magazine, which would be about $240 for the year. They have a special through the end of November that instead of the current promotion price of $99.95, you can put in the coupon code GTU and get a $60 discount.

If you want to read the segment go to ABC4, to order the cards click here. Fill out your billing information, when it is time to put in your credit card info, use GTU as your coupon code, apply, and it will be applied to your order.

I have subscribed to their magazines and really liked them. I quit this last year because they raised their prices. :( But this is a great deal.

INTERNET PROVIDERS

I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a good internet provider. We are with Qwest right now, but it just seems so expensive for what we get. I want to shop around, but really don't know what my options are for this area. Thanks!

Apron Project

We did it! We finished our reversible aprons and it was a fairly easy pattern to follow. We are waiting on Katie and Chrissy to finish theirs and post their pictures!! We want to see them!
There are a couple of you who are still interested in doing these. You can still do it! I am willing to help still if you want.

Vote Today

If you haven't had a chance to vote by early ballot, I would encourage you to do so today. I leave in about 5 minutes for the polls where I will be an election judge today. Please keep us busy!

Lots of love,
